From November 6th to November 10th 2023, the University of Kassel is organising a topic week on "AI in Teaching".
Lecturers will discuss the topic with their students in their courses.
In the afternoon, lecturers will exchange ideas on the podium in the subject-specific AI Talks: In Book Sciences, STEM subjects, Teacher Education and Art, Music and Architecture.
All students and teachers can contribute their views on the topic in forums.
The final event will be the "Digital Teaching Day" on November 17th in the Gießhaus.
Since July, a paper on AI in teaching has already been released by the presidential board, you can find it here (German only):
KI in den Lehrveranstaltungen vom 06. - 10. November 2023
Jede Lehrveranstaltung ist Teil der Themenwoche! Each course is part of the topic week!
Lecturers are invited to discuss the topic of AI with their students with regard to their subject in all courses, and to explore the use and impact of AI applications.
This includes questions about how AI will develop in their subject, what experiences students have already gained with AI, how AI can be used in view of good scientific practice, how reliable different sources are for a good learning process, which AI-based tools can be used in teaching and where they are not allowed, what framework requirements are needed in the future use of AI, etc..
Lecturers can enter their ideas for discussing with students in the online overview table. There, you will find an overview of the topics being discussed this week and how some lecturers are already incorporating AI into their teaching.
In context of panel discussions with professors from the University of Kassel, Vice-President René Matzdorf sheds light on the topic of AI from various perspectives within the faculty cultures.
